Before that, his 13 year career in the Navy included naval service as a nuclear trained submarine warfare officer.

I started law school while a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. An engineering education and background did not help with law school, but I find that many engineering principles, diligent analysis, and problem-solving thinking help with actual law practice.
