I primarily practice bankruptcy and real estate law and have represented both debtors and creditors over the last 9 years. My practice has also included mediations, foreclosure defense and prosecution, and negotiating loss mitigation options for clients. I am admitted to practice in Washington, Ohio, and the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.

On the personal side, I graduated with a degree in geology and worked in a limestone quarry as an on-site geologist for a summer. After that, I moved to Japan where I taught English, wrote English textbooks and helped to manage an English school for 4.5 years.

My practice is focused is focused on resolving debt issues, protecting assets, and litigation regarding the same for individuals and small to mid size businesses. Prior to founding Washington Debt Law, PLLC, I worked at one of the largest creditor side law firms, representing financial institutions in bankruptcy, eviction, foreclosure, and litigation matters.

I have over a decade’s experience representing families in custody and divorce cases, and in suits against corporations, insurance companies, banks and landlords. The vast majority of lawyers have never tried a case before judge and a jury. I have tried and co-counseled more than a dozen jury trials, resulting in hundreds-of-millions in settlement and verdicts for my clients.

Radical environmental activist turned human rights activist, I went to law school to find new ways to take direct action against systems of oppression and exploitation. I earned my B.S. in political science from Northern Arizona University. I earned a J.D. from UC Hastings, in San Francisco, with an emphasis on Social Justice.
My professional experience includes criminal defense, employment law, slip and fall torts (plaintiff side), and suing prisons to provide better conditions.
