Patton Legal Services, LLC provides affordable legal services, passionate representation, and access to justice. The firm provides affordable legal services to low-income and moderate-income central Iowans in Ames, Boone, Des Moines, Jefferson, Marshalltown, and Webster City. The firm focuses on criminal law, juvenile law, family law, postconviction relief, and administrative law cases, appeals, powers of attorney, living wills, and wills. The firm utilizes a sliding fee scale based on income, flat fees in selected cases, and limited scope services.

Jefferson joined Sellers, Galenbeck & Nelson in 2018, as an associate of Attorney Michael Sellers and Attorney Trent Nelson, where he focuses primarily on administrative law and public policy. As an attorney for Sellers, Galenbeck & Nelson, Jefferson has worked on a variety of cases dealing with many state regulatory agencies, including the Iowa Board of Medicine, Iowa Board of Pharmacy, Iowa Board of Social Work, Iowa Board of Nursing, Iowa Board of Cosmetology, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, at all levels of review and in litigation in Iowa district and Appellate courts.

I have been representing clients throughout Iowa for over 30 years. My practice includes office work and litigation. My law practice includes representing clients in state and federal courts throughout Iowa. I specialize in criminal defense. Being convicted of a felony, drunk driving charge, a drug crime or a white-collar crime has a severe impact on employment and educational opportunities. During the first half of my career I practiced almost exclusively in civil law and I continue to have an active civil law practice.
