Philip Coleman Lawson was born in Pineville, Bell County, Kentucky, the son of two lawyers. He attended Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. After graduating from Centre, Philip enrolled at the University of Louisville, Brandeis School of Law. While at UofL, Philip was an active member of the Moot Court Board and UofL’s Kentucky Intrastate Mock Trial Team. Philip also clerked for mid-size firm in Louisville, Kentucky and for former Chief Judge Hon. Sara W. Combs of the Kentucky Court of Appeals in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Brad earned his B.A. with honors from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) and his J.D. from the University of Houston. His law career started 30 years ago in his small hometown in Texas as a general practice which concentrated on real estate and probate matters. He was later elected to serve as County and District Attorney where he assumed responsibility for all misdemeanor and felony prosecutions. Johnathan has been licensed in KY state courts, the federal court in the Eastern District of KY, and the United States 6th Circuit Court of Appeals since 2002.
