I focus my litigation practice at Bennett Bigelow & Leedom. on medical malpractice defense and insurance defense litigation. I began my trial practice as a prosecuting attorney in 2007, litigating felony and misdemeanor criminal jury trials. I transitioned to civil litigation in 2010 and expanded my practice to include representing clients in business litigation and personal injury disputes. I am admitted to practice before all Washington and Idaho state and federal courts. I also volunteer as a Board Member on the Board of Directors for Catholic Charities Spokane.

After law school, Stryder worked at the YWCA of Pierce County in the legal services department, where he represented primarily Spanish speaking victims of domestic violence in matters ranging from criminal hearings to protection orders and dissolutions.

These experiences fostered Stryder’s perspective on how cases are practically handled and instilled a deep appreciation that everyone deserves responsive and aggressive legal representation. Jim has extensive federal and state trial and appellate experience in a wide range of civil litigation matters, having served as defense counsel in product liability claims involving asbestos, prescription medications, naturopathic compounds, medical devices, sports safety helmets, and other products. He also has considerable experience with building and construction defect claims on behalf of contractors, building owners, and occupants as well as fire loss and property damage claims, including business interruption, loss of use, and loss of access claims.

A native of Washington, Joanne takes a Northwest approach to practicing law. Joanne welcomes the opportunity to help her clients develop outside-the-box solutions that are designed to avoid protracted litigation. A Seattle native, Mike Ricketts received his undergraduate degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Washington, and his Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law.
