He graduated in 1986 from Capital University law school (Magna Cum Laude) and is a member for Phi Beta Kappa from Denison University (also Magna Cum Laude). He has served as President of the Fairfield County Bar Association and as an Acting Judge in the Fairfield County Municipal Court. His public service includes being the Mayor of Pickerington and a city councilman. He also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem in Juvenile and Domestic cases.

James S. Sweeney is the founder and managing member of James Sweeney Law, LLC. A native of Central Ohio, James was born in Columbus and grew up in Marysville.

Prior to starting his own practice, James worked at the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
