Mr. Shaver is an experienced and aggressive attorney practicing primarily in the are of family and criminal law. He graduated in 1986 from Capital University law school (Magna Cum Laude) and is a member for Phi Beta Kappa from Denison University (also Magna Cum Laude). He has served as President of the Fairfield County Bar Association and as an Acting Judge in the Fairfield County Municipal Court. His public service includes being the Mayor of Pickerington and a city councilman. He also serves as a Guardian Ad Litem in Juvenile and Domestic cases.

James S. Sweeney is the founder and managing member of James Sweeney Law, LLC. A native of Central Ohio, James was born in Columbus and grew up in Marysville.

Prior to starting his own practice, James worked at the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. While in law school, he also worked at the Reynoldsburg City Attorney’s Office, where he served as a Prosecutor at the Reynoldsburg Mayor’s Court, and also worked at the Ohio Attorney General’s Office. He formerly served as the Village Solicitor of Alexandria, Ohio.

I graduated from The Ohio State University cum laude with a B.A. in Criminology and earned a J.D. from the University of Toledo College of Law with a concentration in criminal law. While in law school I worked for both the Toledo Public Defender's Office and Lucas County Prosecutor's Office. These experiences allow me to give excellent representation to my clients in need of criminal defense.
