I have significant experience as a design engineer and am one of the few IP attorneys that is a registered Professional Engineer (and meet the continuing education requirements to keep my registration active). I am a Columbus area intellectual property attorney specializing in patent and trademark prosecution and intellectual property portfolio management. I have represented clients ranging from individuals to multinational enterprises in various industries, including medical devices, pharmaceuticals, mechanical devices, materials, and electronics. Beyond intellectual property matters, I have experience drafting and reviewing an array of business agreements and contracts, including licensing and transactional agreements, branding agreements, research and development agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and governmental contracts.

I started law school while a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. An engineering education and background did not help with law school, but I find that many engineering principles, diligent analysis, and problem-solving thinking help with actual law practice.
