As a former probation/parole officer and the son of a decorated homicide detective, my entire life has been connected to the criminal justice system. I've seen the inside of a prison, I know police tactics, and I've seen first-hand how our criminal justice system can be unfair.

Following high school, she attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee before attending Indiana University at South Bend.
