KIRK NYSTROM, Attorney Kirk Nystrom has practiced law in Topeka for over 40 years primarily in the areas of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Trusts, Probate and Estate Planning. He is a lecturer regularly presenting seminars to lawyers, churches, civic and other professional groups on Estate Planning, Probate and Trusts. Christopher brings to the table legal experience in a number of areas, including nonprofit creation/governance, immigration, and general civil matters.

He received his Juris Doctor from the Washburn School of Law, and his Bachelor's in English from the University of North Dakota. Prior to law school, he taught high school English, and briefly served in state government.

Chris is a native of northeastern North Dakota, but proudly claims Kansas and its mild winters as his home. Whether or not he is in the office, Chris harbors the desire to write the great American novel.

I am a Christian, husband, and father of five who has work experience in the sciences, manufacturing, and the mission field. I am a hard worker, a diligent researcher, and an effective representative. I am committed to providing excellent legal services to all those who will trust me to be their attorney. I started Coughlin Law Office with the goal of providing legal services to businesses and individuals throughout northeast Kansas and beyond.

I graduated Cum Laude from Washburn Law School in 2003. During law school, I participated in Law Journal, Moot Court, and Law Clinic. I set for and passed the Kansas bar in the summer of 2003 and then I took and passed the Missouri bar in 2004. Directly after law school, I had the honor of working directly with the late Judge Elliott of the Kansas Court of Appeals as a research attorney. I then worked briefly with a local attorney in Lawrence, prior to starting my own practice in November of 2005.

A native of Kansas, Corey Rasmussen grew up in the Kansas City area and spent his summers working on the family farm in northeast Kansas.

He began his professional career as an external auditor for the Kansas City office of KPMG International Accounting Firm, conducting audits of Kansas City’s largest and most prominent companies.

Today, Mr. Rasmussen has devoted his practice to assisting clients with Estate Planning, Asset Protection, and Elder Law issues.
