A native of Washington, Joanne takes a Northwest approach to practicing law. Jim has extensive federal and state trial and appellate experience in a wide range of civil litigation matters, having served as defense counsel in product liability claims involving asbestos, prescription medications, naturopathic compounds, medical devices, sports safety helmets, and other products. He also has considerable experience with building and construction defect claims on behalf of contractors, building owners, and occupants as well as fire loss and property damage claims, including business interruption, loss of use, and loss of access claims.

After law school, Stryder worked at the YWCA of Pierce County in the legal services department, where he represented primarily Spanish speaking victims of domestic violence in matters ranging from criminal hearings to protection orders and dissolutions.

These experiences fostered Stryder’s perspective on how cases are practically handled and instilled a deep appreciation that everyone deserves responsive and aggressive legal representation. I began my insurance career as a casualty adjuster for Farmers Insurance in 1989. In addition to Farmers Insurance, I worked as a large loss property adjuster, supervisor, and claims manager for 21st Century Insurance and SAFECO, and have over sixteen years of property and casualty claims experience. In 2005, I received my J.D., summa cum laude, from Southwestern University School of Law, where I served as Lead Articles Editor for the law review.
