Mark Venardi was born in 1962 in Seattle, Washington. He was raised in Peoria, IL, a Midwest blue collar town. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and proudly served from 1980 through 1985. He spent the first two years on a sea going tug performing search and rescue and marine law enforcement from the Grand Banks to the Windward Passage aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Tamaroa, which was the Coast Guard vessel that performed the rescue in “The Perfect Storm.”

Practicing maritime law for 49 years. Handled both Jones Act and Longshore & Harborworkers claims. Over 75 trials to completion. Many 7 figure verdicts and settlements. Voted best Northern California maritime attorney (2003) by the Recorder. AV rated. Also handled and litigated major trucking accident cases resulting in multi-million dollar verdicts or settlements.

As a child, Doug Williams spent a good amount of the time when he wasn't in school on the cruise lines, where his father was the chief medical officer. These experiences gave him the knowledge and passion he needed to pursue a career in maritime law. After graduating magna cum laude at Florida State University and earning his Juris Doctorate, Doug accepted a position with a leading maritime law firm in Tampa, Florida.
