He saw firsthand how the industry was rife with legal issues ranging from liability and employment practices claims down to risk management. I have practiced law since 1981, the first six years in Portland, OR, where I worked as in house counsel at two commercial banks. During that time I spent time collecting defaulted loans (mostly commercial), and two years as a personal trust officer administering trusts, and then two more years as counsel to the corporate loan department, which made large loans to corporations.

Before I became an Attorney, I was a Physical Therapist in large teaching hospitals, in private clinics, and in home care. And, prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, I was a Molecular Biologist doing research in protein synthesis. Having a strong analytical background with experience in health care gives me a unique perspective on planning for the future.
