After graduating from law school in 1980, I served four years as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney in Roanoke and Portsmouth, Virginia. Tried approximately 60 criminal jury trials during my first four years of practice.

After my service as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney, I entered civil practice. My civil practice includes many personal injury trials. Currently, I accept civil, criminal, personal injury and traffic cases.

Chad S. Roberts is an Associate Attorney who joined Schempf & Ware, PLLC in 2017. His practice focuses on criminal defense, civil litigation, land use litigation, and estate litigation. He was a finalist in the Prince Competition, where he demonstrated exceptional ability in appellate advocacy. He was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award in Conflicts. While in law school, he was selected by the NAACP to travel to Memphis, Tennessee.
