Michael was raised in Calvert County. He graduated from DeMatha Catholic High School and went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts from Loyola College in Maryland, where he graduated cum laude and was a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha honor society. Mr. Hartel’s practice focuses on insurance defense litigation. He has extensive experience handling insurance defense cases for insurance companies, insurance coverage litigation, insurance fraud litigation, and state insurance administration matters. Mr. Hartel also represents insurance companies regarding first party insurance claims and regularly conducts examinations under oath at the request of insurance companies. He has tried in excess of 300 jury trials and has many years of experience arguing appellate matters.
